Web Design | SEO | Fall 2021

At Starz, PK's performance during "Power Book III: Raising Kanan's" premiere weekend was a pivotal window that defined our partnership’s success.

In the run-up to the anticipated premiere, our team kicked things into high gear, crafting a bespoke web page for the show's launch. This effort turbocharged conversion rates as the series took the spotlight. Under our partnership deal, total sales volume was locked at 30%. With our collaborative push, PK smashed expectations with a 55% conversion rate surge in just 24 hours.

Deliverables

Striking harmony between eye-catching design and seamless functionality.

Branding Guide

Prior to its dynamic rebranding in 2022, STARZ embraced a sleek, black-and-white aesthetic designed to support a diverse array of content. The PK team came in and spotlighted content while harmonizing with STARZ’s minimalistic branding guidelines.

Design Strategy

Faced with fluctuating approval dates and limited resources from the client, we honed our design strategy to align precisely within a tight one-week development window. This ensured the team could navigate the content and constraints effectively.

Ideation Workshops

Following an extensive inventory assessment of both classic and new design assets, the team embarked heavily in design ideation workshops. Leveraging affinity mapping and clustering techniques, the PK team skillfully nailed down a thematic concept for the page, mixing old-school with the new-school vibe in just the right way.

Web Development

In collaboration with the STARZ team, PK conducted a single round of quality assurance (QA) before the website’s launch the following week. Plus, the team integrated some Hotjar analytics to monitor web traffic. This move let the PK team tweak designs based on real feedback from the results of A/B Testing.

Marketing Analytics

In order to keep the site online, within a day, PK hustled to renegotiate the contract cap from 30% revenue. Plus, Starz’s in-house crew also adopted the page, slashing the typical 2-3 month prep down to just 1 day. This pivot cracked open new avenues for ramping up volume during premieres.
